ASVAB

Attention All Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors:

The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is being offered at Bordentown Regional High School on November 16, 2020.  Please see your School Counselor if you would like to sign up.

The ASVAB assessment is not “just for the Military”.  The results can be used for the following:
  • Anyone interested in the Military…The score is used to apply for a branch of service.  Every branch has different “qualifying” scores.
  • Some Vocational Institutions in the State of New Jersey will accept your ASVAB results as an entrance exam for the school. The Director of Admissions from your school of choice should verify this information to you in writing.
  • Students who are taking college entry exams (ACTs and SATs) can use this test as a test barometer for the future college exam.  Guidance counselors have a concordance table to demonstrate how you would perform on the college exams using your ASVAB scores.

ASVAB results provide information on your current levels of skills and abilities.   Your ASVAB scores can help you see what your currents strengths are TODAY!  The Administrator will return to your school within 60 days to explain ASVAB results and also conduct a Career Exploration Program.  Your scores do not predict success or failure.  Just as a high score does not guarantee success, a low score does not necessarily mean failure in an occupation.  In addition, you can work hard toward improving your skills through additional education, training and/or experience.
