NJ Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S)
NJ4S is a new program launched by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families (DCF). It is a hub and spoke model network of social, emotional, and mental wellbeing support for students and their families. Tier I services are universal supports open to all NJ students and families. We are proud members of the Burlington County Crisis Response Team. When mobilized for a crisis in your district, teams act as a support system for staff, students and the community. The presence of the Crisis Response Team offers a greater pool of resources to enhance the response within the community. Through the New Jersey Children's System of Care, PerformCare connects young people (up to age 21) and their families statewide to the care they need to be well. They help children with behavioral, mental health, or emotional challenges gain access to the services they need. Service options may include, but are not limited to, Mobile Response and Stabilization Services (MRSS). Note: Parent or legal guardian consent is required for services if youth is under age 18.
The 988 Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States. They are committed to improving crisis services and advancing suicide prevention by empowering individuals, advancing professional best practices, and building awareness. They also help specific groups such as youth, loss survivors, veterans, LGBTQ+ and more. The mission of the National Runaway Safeline (NRS) is to keep America’s runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. Call or text 1-800-RUNAWAY. The Home Free program reunites youth with their family, legal guardian or helps them get to an alternative living arrangement, such as a community-based transitional living program, through a free bus ticket.
