Anna T. Burr

Miss Burr was born March 12, 1900 in Bordentown, NJ. She is the daughter of Samuel E. Burr and Elizabeth Coward (Thompson) Burr of Bordentown, NJ.

EDUCATION: Bordentown High School graduate June 1918; Trenton Normal School, June 1920; Rider College - C.B.S. June 1931 Rutgers University B.S. Ed. 1933/ Ed. M. 1938; attended Swarthmore College 1922-24.

Miss Burr spent a total of 43 years in the education profession.  Thirty-four years as elementary and secondary teacher and as secondary and elementary Principal in the Bordentown Public Schools. Miss Burr also held positions with the New Jersey and Federal Governments.  She is a distinguished community leader, Bordentown Library Association; President - Bordentown Cemetery Association; President - Bordentown Good Cheer Club; Vice President - Bordentown Visiting Nurse Association; Vice President - Bordentown Area Bicentennial Committee; Vice President - Aaron Burr Association; member of the First Baptist Church, Bordentown Historical Society and the Burlington County Historical Society; the New Jersey Genealogical Society; National, State and County Retired Educators Associations.
