Herman Gutstein graduated from the William MacFarland High School in 1931. He went onto Rider College and graduated in 1932 and earned a bachelor of science degree in Banking and Business Management. 

 

 

Mr. Gutstein owned and operated Harry’s Cut Rate for over 55 years. He was on the Board of Directors of Bordentown Peoples Savings and Loan for 41 years and was Chairman of the Board since 1961.

 

 

He was the founder of G & C Construction Company and was Secretary and Treasurer. 

 

He did the construction on military bases in the United States and Europe. He was the founder of G & C Enterprises in Columbus, N.J.

 

 

Herman was the breeder of pigeons for over 50 years and former President of Pigeon Breeders Association.

 

 

He was also an active member of Mount Moriah Lodge #28, F&AM and active in Masonic Charities.
