Dr. Terry A. Girdon Class of 1960

Dr. Terry A. Girdon is Dean and Professor of Management at the School of Business and Computer Technologies, Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn College), Pennsylvania State University.  The School of Business and Computer Technologies has over 1100 full and part-time students seeking bachelor and associate degrees in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Technology, Legal Assistant Studies, Office Technology, and Technology Management, and has over sixty faculty members, of which thirty-eight are full time.  Dr. Girdon came to Penn College in 1992 from the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where he was a tenured professor, Director of Leadership and Management Studies, and held the Omar M. Bradley Academic Chair.  He was previously taught at St. Lawrence University, Princeton University, and Seton Hall University, and he spent a year as a Research Associate at the Center for Advanced Research at the United States Navy War College in Newport, Rhode Island.  His areas of academic interest include business ethics, managerial decision-making, organization theory, and general management.  Dr. Girdon is the author of journal articles, book reviews, and monographs; and has served as a consultant to a variety of business, educational civic, and governmental organizations.  He earned his doctorate from Rutgers university, as masters in business administration from Boston University, a masters in educational administration from St. Lawrence University, and a bachelors from the University of Delaware. He is retired from the United States Army with the rank of Colonel and is a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He is an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Williamsport, where he serves as Chair of the Administrative Council, and the Williamsport Country Club, where he serves on the board of directors.  He is married and has two daughters.
