Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a high school club that attends conferences which simulate the workings of the United Nations. You write resolutions and debate many of the issues which are internationally pertinent today. Most of all, you are able to express your own views and opinions on what you think are the most important issues facing the world, and hear what your peers have to say about them.

Members of the Bordentown Regional High School Model United Nations team participated at a four-day conference at the Rutgers University Model United Nations (RUMUN) in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The conference with 100's students from across the country work together to solve world problems in a student-centered environment. The conference helps students with research and oratory skills, but mostly concentrates on effective collaboration. The BRHS team earned the award for Best Small School Delegation at the event four years in a row. The BRHS program includes approximately 50 students and they participate in one day conferences throughout the school year.

Student Testimonial:

“Some of my best memories from high school are from Model UN conferences, as they were a perfect breeding ground for new friendships (and for developing your networking skills!) Model UN also allowed me to see the world from a different, less US-centric viewpoint, which was also extremely valuable. If you want to learn how to make friends and influence people, Model UN is for you.”
