Course Description and Rationale: Why This Course? Why Now? Through this course students will continue to recognize that Social Studies is a necessary means in order to understand their own active roles, obligations, and identities not just as Americans but also as members of a constantly evolving global community. U.S Government is a one-semester course that will allow students to form a greater awareness of how certain events, actions, and individuals in United States history are still present in everyday society through a variety of primary and secondary resources. This particular course was designed to assist students in deepening their understanding of the processes and actions taken by various levels of the United States government and all of the sections that are included within. These six areas of study will aid students as they continue to develop into knowledgeable and active American citizens.
