 Algebra 2

DAILY EXPECTATIONS

 

1. BE ON TIME   Class begins when the late bell rings and all students are required to be in the room before the late bell rings. 

 

2.  BE PREPARED Students must come prepared to class.  The following should be brought to class everyday:
  1.         Covered textbook
  2.         3-ring binder with paper dividers
  3.         Completed assignments
  4.         TI -83+ graphing calculator
  5.         Pen and pencil
  6.         Student handbook (required for Hall pass privileges)
 

 

3. CELL PHONE USE Cell phones and other electronic devices may NOT be used during class without permission.  Devices will be confiscated as per Bordentown Regional School District’s Cellular Phones and other Electronic Devices policy.

 

 4. HALL PASSES
 
                           1.  Students are encouraged to visit the bathroom during passing time between classes. However, students are considered late to class if they are not in the room when the late bell rings unless they have a pass from another teacher or staff member.

 

                           2. In order to leave the classroom all students must be in possession of THEIR OWN student handbook. Date, time, and destination must be filled out before requesting permission in PEN.

 

                         3. Permission will be granted only during non-instructional time.

 

                         4. Students will be allowed 10 passes to leave the classroom per marking period. After the 10th pass permission to leave will not be granted.
 
 
 

 GRADING POLICY

  1. TESTS  (50%)  Tests will be given at the end of each chapter.

      2.  ASSIGNMENTS (25%) Assignments will be reviewed on a daily basis.    

Grading for assignments is as follows:  

                 2all problems were completed or attempted, no problem was left blank,

                 1most problems were completed or attempted but there are missing or blank problems,

                 0 – many/all problems are missing or blank.

 3. QUIZZES (25%)  At least one quiz will be given per chapter.

 

*Students who are late to class without a pass from a staff member on a Quiz or Test day will receive a 5% grade deduction.*

 

 

ABSENCES AND MAKE-UP WORK

    1. Missed homework, tests, or quizzes can be made up only if the  absence is VERIFIED. Any assignment missed due to an  UNVERIFIED absence will receive a 0.
 
       2.  It is the student’s responsibility to obtain the missed assignments and to complete them on the date determined by the teacher and the student.
 
       3.  Any test or assignment not made up will receive a zero.

 

 

CHEATING POLICY

Students are expected to do their own work.  Any student found to be cheating will receive a zero for the evaluation and will have their parents or guardians notified.  Also, the school administration will be informed of the incident.

 

TUTORING

Tutoring can be received in a number of ways:           

  1.         with Mrs. Pokallus in Room 247 during period 5 or in Room 179 with Mr. Larned
  2.        from a previous teacher
  3.        from a fellow classmate
  4.         from a peer tutor
  5.         from a paid tutor

 No matter the source, seeking help is the student’s responsibility and should be sought as soon as possible.
