In Algebra I and II we will be building on your elementary math skills and discovering mathematical principles and techniques that have real-life applications in science, engineering, and business. Algebra (and math in general) provides a useful framework for studying the world and reasoning through its problems. Algebra is the foundation for higher-level math work, and therefore, the foundation for decision-making of a higher order. During the course of the semester, we will talk about how we can use math in the world around us.
I promise a great classroom if you bring a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a good work ethic to class every day. The goal of this class is to improve math and reasoning skills; therefore, participation is class activities will be incredibly beneficial to you, and any questions that you might have about math and its applications are highly encouraged. Treat everyone in class with respect, and we'll have a great year!
