Concert Rules and Requirements

  1. No talking on the risers for any reason.
  2. No talking onstage or backstage.
  3. Show Choirs will warm up before the concert, all others during intermission.  Warm ups will be treated seriously, and there will be no talking in order to listen to any last minute instructions.
  4. Report time is as follows:

           Show Choirs and Section Leaders - 6:45

           All others - 7:00

  1. All choir members will check in with their Section Leaders, Vocal Tech will check in with Mrs. Kirk.
  2. When students are not performing, they are expected to be seated in the audience, showing proper respect for the performers onstage.  As this is a formal occasion, no shout outs, catcalls or any other behavior which could distract the performers is tolerated.  Penalties will be assessed to those responsible, and they may forfeit their right to membership.  Flash photography is absolutely prohibited.  The flashes only serve to temporarily blind and distract performers.  Photos with flash look washed out and faded.  Pictures taken without flash turn out much better.
  3. Outfits are provided for all ensembles.  They are as follows:

           Core Choir, Chorale, Honors:

               Women - black gown.  

 Women  must also provide their own black stockings and dress shoes.  They are responsible for hemming their dress.  All dresses should have a three inch hem.  No other alterations should be made to their outfits.  

            Men - 4 piece tux  outfit (jacket, trousers, vest, bow tie.  Men must purchase their own tux shirt at a cost of $15.00.   Cash and checks are acceptable.  Checks should be made out to BRSD . They are responsible for hemming their trousers. They must provide their own black dress shoes and black socks.

          Show Choirs:

            Women - dresses.  Women must provide black character shoes, nude stockings.  No alterations are permitted to the Show Choir outfits.  Their hair must be styled in a neat (no pieces  sticking out), low bun.  

           Men - tux pants, tie, vest.  Men must provide black dress shoes and socks.  Men with longer hair must confine it so it does not get in their face.

It is strongly recommended that students check concert attire at least one week prior to the concert to be sure they have all components, and they are in good repair (clean, wrinkle free, buttons sewn on, etc).  Any student who is not properly attired will not be permitted to perform and their grade will be forfeit.
