Odyssey Unit Test - Friday, January 6th

Students: You should have two packets: Part I "Sailing from Troy" and Part II "The Return of Odysseus".  You also have a Greek god/goddess packet, that also contains the terms for this unit.  I have the terms on my teacher site as well. Please review the terms, the god/goddess and the story each night.

Odyssey Reading Quiz-

1st period- Quiz on Thursday "Sirens, Scylla and Charybdis, Cattle of the Sun God and Glaucus and Scylla"
 
 
2nd and 7th period- Quiz on Wednesday "Scylla and Charybdis, Cattle of the Sun God and Glaucus and Scylla"

Make sure to review your annotated notes from the readings. Your quiz will be on "Sailing from Troy" to "Scylla and Charybdis". 

Greek Mythology Quiz This Friday 12/9

Use the link below to help you study for the Greek Mythology Quiz.  Be familiar with the 12 Greek gods/goddesses, the terms (i.e.: Divine Intervention, epic hero, hubris...) and the "About the Author Page".

Romeo and Juliet Speech Assignment-English 9CCR

Students: Please continue the research process for your Informative Speech Assignment.  If you forget how to access SIRS, please use the following step:
1-Go to the District Homepage
2-Select BRHS under schools
3-Select Library under Academics
4-Select "My Resources" on the left side
5-Scroll down to SIRS and click the black/underlined word SIRS
6-log in (username and password are provided)
7-Once in SIRS, change it to keyword search and begin researching your topic
8-Make sure to save your citations in a Google Doc for your Works Cited Page

Check for Understanding...

We are currently reading Romeo and Juliet.  Students are provided daily notes, but please help check for comprehension at home as well.  
Ideas:
Ask your child to summarize what we read in class.
Ask them to translate the dialogue into Modern English after they read at home.
