Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!
I will be taking over for Mrs. Pone’s Art 1 and Exploring Art classes for the first semester, while she is on maternity leave. Towards the end of last year, I was a part of the Bordentown faculty and I have enjoyed getting to know your school. It is truly an honor for me to be involved in this community. I had the great opportunity to student teach in Rome prior to graduating college and I believe the value of that experience cannot be measured. I also draw from my experiences outside the classroom to best apply the skills I have learned over the years. These skills have allowed me to become extremely flexible in and out of the classroom, while being able to adjust to my surroundings. When I taught in Rome, these abilities became essential; they allowed me to flourish and develop a whole new philosophy. I do not simply teach art, but instead help others learn a visual language. My background in business has also allowed me to modify my approach for each specific class and grade level. Over the past several years I have sold numerous pieces of artwork, been active in Kappa Pi Art Honor Society, attended a copious amount of studio/education classes and have been in several teaching environments that permitted me to gain a wide variety of capabilities. In my classroom, students learn that there is not only a vast amount of art history, but that the art world itself is alive with a diverse and ever-growing amount of possibilities around them today.
